About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients
  • Guide clients through their full journey with 1-800Accountant and build trusted, long-term relationships
  • Coordinate service delivery across bookkeeping, payroll, tax, and advisory teams
  • Track client milestones, usage, and service delivery progress
  • Identify client risks, blockers, and confusion points and advocate for resolution
  • Schedule and prepare internal expert appointments, including CPA and bookkeeper appointments
  • Guide clients in using the platform and promote adoption of tools and features
  • Understand clients’ businesses, pain points, and goals and tailor support accordingly
  • Handle escalated client concerns and coordinate solutions
  • Recognize evolving client needs and route qualified leads to the Business Needs Analyst team
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records for interactions, service progress, engagement health, and outcomes
  • Support pod efficiency reporting and performance monitoring
  • Lead or assist with client onboarding and platform training
  • Identify recurring issues and share actionable insights with Product, Operations, and Leadership
  • Meet or exceed KPIs related to client satisfaction, service delivery efficiency, milestone attainment, and retention
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven success in a client-facing or account management role
  • Experience coordinating services across multiple departments or specialties
  • Understanding of SaaS products, accounting, tax, payroll, or related services is a plus
  • Experience working in fast-paced SMB environments is strongly preferred
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Ability to explain technical or service-specific information in clear, client-friendly terms
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term, trusted relationships
  • Organized and detail-oriented with ability to track multiple service workflows
  • Ability to facilitate smooth handoffs across internal teams
  • CRM proficiency
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve client friction points
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Familiarity with company tools, services, and client workflows
  • Ability to educate clients on tool usage and maximize platform adoption
  • Comfort navigating and interpreting bookkeeping, tax, or payroll progress at a high level
  • Ability to identify service gaps or evolving client needs
  • Interest in developing a career in tax, accounting, or financial services is highly valued
  • Must be prepared for increased workload during tax seasons and peak periods
