Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid Java software development skillset, ideally utilising Java 21 or higher and the Spring framework, in particular Spring Boot 3.x.x
- Demonstrable test-driven-development mindset
- Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests for web services
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Prior experience working with SQL databases, with strong PostgreSQL knowledge
- Interest in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
- Experience with build tools such as Gradle / Maven
- Experience helping lead the development lifecycle process and best practices
- Experience operating distributed cloud-based microservices
- Strong knowledge of designing and building RESTful APIs
- Experience building and deploying production-level microservices using Docker / Kubernetes / Helm
- Proven experience developing JVM-based microservices running in Kubernetes and taking them through all stages of the development lifecycle
- Proven experience building cloud-based solutions using AWS
- Applicable knowledge of event streaming technologies such as Kafka
- Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and desire to write production-quality code
- Good experience delivering software in an Agile manner as part of a Scrum team
- Ability to write high-quality, clean, reliable, maintainable, and performant code
- Deep understanding of best practices in agile software development
- Ability to manage stakeholders and teach, mentor, and empower others
- Ability to assess technical trade-offs and deliverables needed to create optimal solutions
