Develop JVM-based microservices running in Kubernetes through all development lifecycle stages
Build cloud-based solutions using AWS
Collaborate and deliver software in an Agile/Scrum environment

Assess technical trade-offs and required deliverables to create optimal solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid Java software development skillset, ideally utilising Java 21 or higher and the Spring framework, particularly Spring Boot 3.x.x
Demonstrable test-driven-development mindset
Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests for web services
Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture
Prior experience with SQL databases and strong PostgreSQL knowledge
Interest in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
Experience with build tools such as Gradle / Maven
Experience helping lead the development lifecycle process and best practices
Experience operating distributed cloud-based microservices
Strong knowledge of designing and building RESTful APIs
Experience building and deploying production-level microservices using Docker / Kubernetes / Helm
Proven experience developing JVM-based microservices running in Kubernetes through all stages of the development life cycle
Proven experience building cloud-based solutions using AWS
Knowledge of event streaming technologies such as Kafka
Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and desire to write production-quality code
Experience delivering software in an Agile manner as part of a Scrum team
Ability to write high-quality, clean, reliable, maintainable, and performant code
Deep understanding of best practices in agile software development
Ability to manage stakeholders and teach, mentor, and empower others
Ability to assess technical trade-offs and deliverables needed to create optimal solutions
