About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop detailed knowledge of fund portfolio investments, Limited Partnership Agreements, Borrowing Facility Agreements, investment pipeline, and FX/cash management policies
- Develop knowledge of 17Capital metrics and calculation methodologies and explain them to the business
- Review gross cash flows and valuations produced by Investment Operations
- Support quarterly valuations by maintaining and enhancing calculation engines and reporting tools in MS Excel and Power BI
- Maintain and update gross and net Track Record and Data Pack quarterly and release investment/fund Track Record to the business on deadline
- Produce bespoke investment performance analysis for Senior Leadership and individual investors
- Build models for gross-to-net performance analysis, valuation, and forecasting
- Co-own quarterly fund performance forecasting with the team
- Liaise with Investment Team, Client Services, and Senior Leadership regarding forecasting inputs and outputs
- Work with Technology and Power BI to automate forecasting data provision
- Develop Power BI dashboards and automate reporting of forecasting, Track Record, and gross-to-net performance outputs
- Bridge Technology and Finance in creating analysis, dashboards, and models
- Ensure accurate data flows and mappings from the data warehouse to Power BI reports
- Create investment risk monitoring tools and dashboards and identify risks
- Document and implement controlled processes for accurate and efficient data transfer
- Collaborate with Fund Controllers to obtain fund accounting data
- Restructure portfolio and treasury data for efficient model and software input
- Improve data governance and review processes
- Maintain performance trackers and logs and communicate status to the VP
- Own Track Record updates end-to-end and personally verify dashboards, data releases, and analytical outputs
- Take accountability for assigned transactions and support continuous process improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Maths or other highly numerical discipline
- 2+ years' professional experience with knowledge of fund performance or financial analysis
- Strong modelling and MS Excel skills
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- Strong data capability and data mindset
- Strong analytical capability and curiosity to understand data
- Proactive with willingness to learn and develop
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Interest in developing skills in using AI tools
- Desirable: professional experience of dashboarding and analytics
- Desirable: experience of working with systems and software
- Desirable: private funds experience
- Desirable: AI-related certification
