Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership in the design, development, testing, and deployment of the client’s digital platform hosted on AWS
Build a platform to host a wide range of digital applications
Contribute to programming, project management, and development assignments
Work on backend services in the client’s digital platform
Design and develop backend RESTful API web services using microservices architecture
Oversee and mentor developers and conduct code reviews
Act as team leader for development and support groups
Provide programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to team members
Identify and resolve complex application and technical problems
Drive application development focused on delivering valuable business features
Maintain high software quality standards by establishing good practices and habits
Guide development of structured application/interface code, program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides
Lead development of new functionality and applications on cross-functional Agile project teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field with 8+ years’ experience in this capacity
Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience in this capacity
No degree with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in this capacity
10+ years of experience designing and developing software applications in Java
Experience with Java 17 or higher and Spring Boot RESTful API development
Experience deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure
Experience with message streaming solutions such as AWS Kinesis, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, or Azure Event Hub
Experience with datastores such as AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, AWS DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis
Experience deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GoCD
Experience working within an Agile framework, ideally Scrum
Proven experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale
Proven experience developing software applications using relational and NoSQL databases
Proven experience with application architectural patterns such as MVC, Microservices, and event-driven architecture
Experience designing well-defined RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman, and Assertible
Experience with Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development
Hands-on experience with Cucumber and Selenium and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
Experience with AWS technologies such as API Gateway, ALB, NLB, Fargate, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch
Experience debugging and maintaining software on Linux or Unix platforms
Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated leadership on small to medium-scale projects impacting strategic priorities
