About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own features end to end, working directly with clinicians and operators
  • Scope ambiguous problems, define requirements, write specifications, and ship initial versions
  • Design and build AI agents and automated workflows for insurance benefits verification, prior authorizations, patient intake, claims, and clinical documentation
  • Build web and mobile features for clinicians, patients, families, and internal operations teams
  • Design services, data models, and APIs
  • Manage infrastructure as code
  • Deploy, monitor, and respond to incidents for owned production services
  • Write evaluations for model-facing features and track workflow metrics
  • Handle protected health information safely using least-privilege access, no PHI in logs, and auditable changes
  • Build and maintain skills, plugins, MCP integrations, and review bots used with Claude Code and Codex
  • Work across the platform in a flat engineering team without sub-teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software
  • Recent, hands-on experience using or building AI harnesses beyond simply calling a model API, including project instructions, tools and MCP servers, skills, hooks, subagents, or evals
  • At least one personal project built and published on the web that is live and usable by anyone; ideally a SaaS with working payments such as Stripe
  • Strong full-stack skills in Python and TypeScript across frontend, backend, databases, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience owning products or features end to end, from an unclear problem to a production system
  • Comfort working in a large, established codebase
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, including tool use, agent orchestration, structured outputs, retrieval, and evals
  • Daily use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, including configuring project instructions, skills, MCP servers, hooks, and subagents; running parallel tasks; and reviewing output
  • Good product sense and ability to make UI decisions without a dedicated designer
  • High agency and ability to unblock yourself, find context, and ask questions
  • Clear written communication in a distributed, cross-time-zone team
  • Nice to have: healthcare or regulated-industry experience, including HIPAA, payer and claims workflows, EHR integrations, or HL7/FHIR
  • Nice to have: Temporal or another durable workflow engine
  • Nice to have: React Native
  • Nice to have: production LLM evaluations or safety checks
  • Nice to have: own agent harness, MCP server, or coding-agent plugin
  • Nice to have: open-source work or internal tools used by others
