About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build AI agents and automated workflows for clinic operations, including insurance benefits verification, prior authorizations, patient intake, claims and clinical documentation
  • Build web and mobile features for clinicians, patients, families and the internal operations team
  • Take ambiguous problems from 0 to 1 by defining problems with operators and clinicians, writing specifications and shipping first versions
  • Design services, data models and APIs and manage infrastructure as code
  • Own services in production, including deployments, monitoring and incident response
  • Write evaluations for model-facing features and track workflow metrics
  • Handle protected health information safely using least-privilege access, no PHI in logs and auditable changes
  • Build and maintain engineering skills, plugins, MCP integrations and review bots for Claude Code and Codex
  • Work across the platform in a flat engineering team without sub-teams
  • Collaborate directly with clinicians and operators who use the products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software
  • Recent, hands-on experience using or building AI harnesses, including project instructions, tools and MCP servers, skills, hooks, subagents and evals
  • At least one personal project built and published on the web that is live and usable by anyone, ideally a SaaS with working payments such as Stripe
  • Strong full-stack skills in Python and TypeScript across frontend, backend, databases and cloud infrastructure
  • Comfort working in a large, established codebase
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including tool use, agent orchestration, structured outputs, retrieval and evals
  • Daily use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor
  • Ability to configure AI coding agents with project instructions, skills, MCP servers, hooks and subagents, run multiple tasks in parallel and review output carefully
  • Good product sense and ability to make UI decisions without a dedicated designer
  • High agency and ability to unblock yourself
  • Clear written communication
  • Experience with healthcare or another regulated industry, HIPAA, payer and claims workflows, EHR integrations or HL7/FHIR is nice to have
  • Experience with Temporal or another durable workflow engine is nice to have
  • React Native experience is nice to have
  • Experience running LLM evaluations or safety checks in production is nice to have
  • Experience building an agent harness, MCP server or coding-agent plugin is nice to have
  • Open-source work or internal tools used by others is nice to have
