About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a crew of warehouse personnel
- Manage customer relations
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including production, efficiencies, and employee development
- Fulfill the On-Site Manager role in the manager’s absence
- Communicate expectations and goals daily, weekly, and monthly to shift employees
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure safety standards are met
- Conduct safety and shift start-up meetings
- Complete daily production paperwork accurately
- Load and unload materials from trailers
- Move pallets or materials around the storage facility
- Stack pallets or materials correctly according to inventory control instructions
- Ensure loads are secure
- Perform daily equipment checks on industrial power equipment
- Examine products for conformance to quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Assist with forklift driver duties and pallet/material movement as needed
- Track pallet and material movements in a timely and legible manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- 3 years of applicable experience, preferably in manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, or distribution environments
- 1 year in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural instruction manuals
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Experience in MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Forklift, yard truck, and sort machine certification may be required
- Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and air particulate
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including eye protection, ear protection at several locations, and safety shoes
- Close, distance, and color vision
- Good sense of balance and eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
