About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build Exonaut end-to-end, including user-facing screens, backend services and data layers
  • Integrate Exonaut with data lakehouses, customer ERP systems, optimisation engines and partner platforms
  • Work across Angular, Java, SQL, pipeline orchestration and transformation tooling
  • Make architecture decisions and choose appropriate technical patterns
  • Introduce event-driven and change-data-capture patterns where appropriate
  • Improve code quality, automated testing, CI/CD and observability
  • Build test automation and delivery pipelines
  • Extend and modify the Exonaut platform, including front-end features, backend services and APIs
  • Own user experience, integration contracts, performance and security
  • Mentor and coach engineers and help grow the full stack engineering practice
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, designers and customer stakeholders
  • Explain technical trade-offs and clarify stakeholder needs
  • Participate in behavioural screening, hands-on programming and product-focused system design interviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Senior full stack engineering experience
  • Independently led substantial pieces of work from front end and backend through production
  • Experience with component-based TypeScript frameworks, specifically Angular
  • Strong Java skills
  • Solid SQL skills
  • Experience building REST and/or event-based services and APIs
  • Experience integrating third-party systems such as ERP platforms, data stores and external engines
  • Understanding of integration patterns, authentication and performance
  • Experience with version control, code review, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Sound judgement around system and data design, including data warehouses/lakehouses
  • Understanding of streaming, event-driven and batch approaches
  • Product and user-experience awareness
  • Experience with observability and production instrumentation
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Must be a UK national and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
  • Genuine interest in software supporting armed forces, public safety and resilience organisations
