About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise major Irish and international businesses on how sanctions and export controls affect operations, transactions and supply chains
  • Translate new sanctions, export control and geopolitical developments into clear, practical guidance
  • Develop creative, commercially minded solutions to business-critical sanctions and export control queries
  • Advise on investigations and possible prosecutions into alleged non-compliance
  • Advise corporates on white collar crime exposure, including fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering and corporate offences
  • Represent clients in dealings with regulators such as the Central Bank of Ireland and the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission
  • Seek authorisations and respond to information requests, investigations and dawn raids
  • Work alongside white collar and disputes teams on complex corporate crises involving regulatory scrutiny and related civil litigation
  • Provide strategic and practical advice on sanctions regimes, export licensing requirements, compliance programmes, reporting obligations and sanctions impacts on commercial transactions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solicitor qualification is implied by the requirement for interested solicitors
  • Genuine interest in sanctions, export controls, white collar crime or regulatory investigations
  • Ideally, relevant PQE in the range of 1–4 years gained within a large, medium or boutique corporate law firm
  • Experience or interest in advising on sanctions and export controls
  • Experience or interest in white collar crime, including fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering and corporate offences
  • Experience or interest in dealings with regulators, including the Central Bank of Ireland and the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission
  • Ability to advise corporate clients across sectors including financial services, aviation, technology, energy, life sciences, manufacturing and international trade
