About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare year-end statutory financial statements for a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
  • Assist with management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Prepare and review VAT returns in compliance with legislation and deadlines
  • Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
  • Liaise with colleagues across service lines to deliver client work efficiently and on time
  • Maintain technical knowledge of accounting, taxation, and regulatory developments
  • Use accounting software and technology solutions to support efficient service delivery
  • Build and maintain client relationships and act as a key contact for routine queries as the role progresses
  • Identify opportunities to add value to clients and support advisory projects as the role progresses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment and similar role
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for SME and owner-managed business clients
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator able to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cloud accounting software such as Xero, Bright Accounts or Sage
  • Proactive approach with a commitment to delivering excellent client service
