About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute audit planning, fieldwork, and completion in line with internal processes, professional standards, budgets, and deadlines
  • Take responsibility for key aspects of audit engagements and escalate issues early
  • Identify and undertake complex audit areas during fieldwork
  • Review draft accounts and assist with client queries
  • Attend and contribute to audit planning, progress, and clearance meetings
  • Act as the primary client contact during audit fieldwork
  • Support management and development of a client portfolio
  • Build professional relationships and deliver responsive client service
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and introduce relevant specialists
  • Manage work delegated to junior team members
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to less experienced colleagues
  • Support engagement profitability, budgets, WIP, lock-up, scope, and fee preparation
  • Maintain technical accounting and audit knowledge and comply with quality procedures
  • Consult with Managers, Directors, and Partners on technical and risk matters
  • Participate in tenders, proposals, presentations, marketing, networking, and business development activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • ACA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent professional qualification
  • Newly qualified candidates will be considered
  • Previous experience in a similar audit role within practice
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Strong technical accounting and audit knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines
