About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and lead client projects, including project management of challenging technical advice
- Manage and build client relationships
- Deliver strategic advisory services across private client matters
- Participate in day-to-day team operations and help ensure internal and external targets and deadlines are met
- Support the leadership team in setting and delivering departmental strategic objectives
- Identify and progress opportunities to promote the business, secure new work, and support firm growth
- Act as a technical expert in private client advice, including inheritance tax, trusts, estates, succession planning, and shareholder transactions
- Review and sign off complex Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Liaise with external advisors to deliver high-level tax advice
- Provide staff with quality work briefings, delegation, and ongoing support
- Develop technical expertise and share it with clients, the wider market, team, and firm
- Develop connected service lines and facilitate team development
- Build practical solutions, make recommendations, demonstrate client value, and manage risk
- Maintain long-standing, trusted client relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent
- Significant experience in private client taxation gained within professional practice
- Strong knowledge of UK personal taxation, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax
- Experience managing complex compliance portfolios
- Proven ability to provide technical tax advice to private clients
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing client relationships and supervising staff
- Desirable: international private client tax experience
- Desirable: knowledge of cross-border tax planning and double tax treaties
- Desirable: experience advising non-UK residents and internationally mobile individuals
- Desirable: trust and estate taxation experience
- Desirable: exposure to family office or wealth management environments
- Desirable: experience presenting to clients and professional intermediaries
