About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and lead client projects, effectively project managing challenging technical advice
- Manage and build client relationships
- Deliver strategic advisory services across private client
- Participate in day-to-day team operations and ensure internal and external targets and deadlines are met
- Support the leadership team in setting and delivering departmental strategic objectives
- Identify and progress opportunities to promote the business, seek new opportunities, and secure new work with business development support
- Act as a “go to” technical expert in private client advice, including Inheritance Tax, Trusts, Estates, succession planning, and shareholder transactions
- Review and sign off complex Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Liaise with external advisors to deliver high-level tax advice
- Provide quality work briefings, delegate work, and support staff
- Develop technical expertise and share it with clients and the wider market
- Share technical expertise across the team and firm to support connected service lines
- Build practical solutions and recommendations, demonstrate client value, and manage risk
- Maintain long-standing, trusted client relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent
- Significant experience in private client taxation gained within professional practice
- Strong knowledge of UK personal taxation, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
- Experience managing complex compliance portfolios
- Proven ability to provide technical tax advice to private clients
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing client relationships and supervising staff
- International private client tax experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of cross-border tax planning and double tax treaties (desirable)
- Experience advising non-UK residents and internationally mobile individuals (desirable)
- Trust and estate taxation experience (desirable)
- Exposure to family office or wealth management environments (desirable)
- Experience presenting to clients and professional intermediaries (desirable)
