About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee and lead client projects, including project management of challenging technical advice
  • Manage and build client relationships
  • Deliver strategic advisory services across private client work
  • Participate in day-to-day team operations and help meet internal and external targets and deadlines
  • Support the leadership team in setting and delivering departmental strategic objectives
  • Identify and progress business promotion opportunities, seek new opportunities, and secure new work with business development support
  • Act as a technical expert in private client advice, including Inheritance Tax, trusts, estates, succession planning, and shareholder transactions
  • Review and sign off complex Self Assessment Tax Returns
  • Liaise with external advisors to deliver high-level tax advice
  • Brief staff on delegated work and provide ongoing support
  • Develop technical expertise and share it with clients, the wider market, team, and firm
  • Facilitate development of connected service lines
  • Build practical solutions, offer recommendations, and demonstrate their value to clients while managing risk
  • Maintain long-standing, trusted client relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant professional tax qualification (e.g. CA, ATT, CTA, STEP or similar)
  • Previous experience working in a similar role, including the specified technical experience
  • Knowledge of Irish Capital Taxes (CGT, CAT) and their interaction with UK counterpart taxes is desirable
  • Expertise in advisory work
  • Track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience using tax software
  • Ability to undertake independent technical research, preferably using Tolley's Guidance/Library
