About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support ongoing and new implementations
- Partner with customers and internal teams to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures
- Solve customer business problems and accelerate adoption of Abacus offerings
- Demonstrate best practices for advanced cloud solutions and healthcare payer systems
- Support solutions involving claims processing, clinical informatics, provider systems such as EHR, and CMS Interoperability mandates
- Guide successful client adoption of Abacus core data management offerings
- Author project architecture design documents, data flows, sequence diagrams, and overall system architecture
- Define solutions primarily associated with CMS Interoperability and other data solutions
- Assess current business and system capabilities and define technology strategy roadmaps
- Collaborate with business experts, technical business analysts, project managers, sales/account executives, and data engineers on client projects
- Collaborate with Product Management on client-specific requirements and product roadmap features
- Define solution architecture visions for designated components
- Mentor internal teams and provide ongoing implementation support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Understanding and passion for healthcare data and systems, including payer, provider, and integration partners
- Strong working knowledge of US healthcare data, including Medical Claims, Pharmacy Claims, Membership / Enrollment, Provider and Clinical data
- Domain expertise in CMS Interoperability Mandate (9115 / 0057), including mandated APIs and FHIR data structures
- Ability to define solution architecture vision in architecture design documents
- Broad technical knowledge across infrastructure, data models, databases, service orientation, programming, frameworks, standards, and technical modeling
- Strong experience with one or more cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, or GCP) desired
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake desired
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and customer needs
- Previous payer / Interoperability vendor experience preferred
- Experience translating business needs into technology solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working in the payer / healthcare data space
- Understanding of client services or experience working for a cloud-based data management provider to large clients
- Working knowledge of Provider (EHR) data formats and topics, including FHIR, X-12, HL-7 V2.3, and CCDA/CDA, not required
- Working knowledge of Utilization Management / Care Management / Disease Management, not required
