About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create a welcoming, fun, and educational Guest experience
Greet Guests and provide prompt, friendly, engaging service
Operate the Point-of-Sale system, process transactions, apply discounts and promotions, verify rewards accounts, validate product selections, perform age verification, and follow cash-handling procedures
Check identification for alcohol and tobacco age verification while operating POS, wine taps, or tasting tables
Learn and promote wine, spirits, beer, cigars, and Sourced & Certified products
Assist with merchandising, restocking, and visual presentation
Increase sales and product performance to meet store goals
Receive, unload, validate invoices, organize, and stock deliveries
Maintain clean, safe, and organized sales floor, stockroom, Team Member areas, restrooms, parking lots, and walkways
Sweep, remove debris, collect shopping carts, empty trash, and perform routine restroom cleaning
Provide product wrapping, assemble custom gift baskets, and offer carryout service
Complete required training and follow company policies and product knowledge standards
Perform additional duties assigned by Store Leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be 21 years of age or older
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs demand
No prior retail experience required; previous customer-facing experience is a plus
Maintain regular and predictable onsite attendance and remain onsite for the duration of shifts
Ability to stand and move about for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more
Ability to bend, lift, twist, and move product for merchandising
Ability to lift and/or transport up to 40 lbs. throughout the store and stockroom
Ability to perform overhead lifting
Ability to use ladders and step stools
Ability to visually inspect product labels, signage, and displays
Ability to detect and respond to visual cues and safety hazards
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, refrigerated temperatures, moderate noise, and occasional fumes or airborne particles
Must maintain Responsible Vendor status for alcohol and tobacco purchases
