About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in managing scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects, including coordination with external design sub-consultants and internal design teams
  • Manage approximately $0.5M–$1.5M in annual billings
  • Interpret and contribute to Basis of Design documents, design criteria documents, reports, and other technical written documents
  • Maintain clear communication between clients, contractors, and senior project managers on all active projects
  • Conduct quality control reviews of drawings, specifications, and narratives under the guidance of senior staff
  • Identify and escalate oversights for review and correction
  • Support business development, including project interviews, technical writing for proposals, and fee proposals
  • Assist with contract coordination for sub-consultants and support approval and distribution processes
  • Maintain project schedules and calendars with key design deadlines
  • Keep project records, job site visit logs, and timelines current
  • Ensure RFI and submittal response times meet or exceed company standards
  • Keep records of communications and work items discussed with contractors
  • Maintain documentation and records of applicable standards and codes
  • Support development of and adherence to company-wide standards and processes
  • Submit personal timesheets on time and help monitor team compliance
  • Represent the company in marketing and networking activities, including industry events and conferences, as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of post-degree experience working for an MEP engineering firm or an AE firm
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Architect (AIA)
  • Proficient in managing workflow for MEP/FP designers and engineers in the AEC industry
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of applying WBS and EVM frameworks
  • Familiarity with applying PMI methodologies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Microsoft Project
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Able to edit design specifications and respond to RFIs using information from project documents
  • Strong work ethic; able to work independently/self-motivated and in a collaborative team setting
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong project management, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong time management with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and duties
  • High levels of confidentiality, integrity, and dependability
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits and client meetings
  • Nice to have: PMI PMP certification, or actively pursuing it
  • Reliable high-speed internet capable of supporting video conferencing, VPN, and cloud applications
  • Secure home network appropriate for confidential company and client information
