About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design test strategies, test plans, and test cases from requirements, design documents, and specifications
Estimate test case writing and execution effort and track progress
Author test cases and conduct test case reviews with stakeholders
Execute functional, smoke, regression, and integration tests
Report, track, validate, and close defects
Record and report test results
Participate in daily scrum meetings
Participate in system design sessions and provide input on testability of new features
Track and gather metrics on testing activities
Participate in risk management assessments and software/hardware development, emphasizing user-requirement analysis, test design, and test-tool selection
Use metrics in quantitative project management to identify improvement areas
Provide innovative solutions for more efficient testing strategies
Collaborate with Test Engineers, User Services, Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Architects
Support testing and deployment of a DoD-wide TCPED workflow management platform for OSINT

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with 8+ years in software development, release management, operations management, or related field
Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile-Scrum methodology
Experience with API and endpoint testing
Experience with Continuous Integration pipeline
Experience drafting test plans and test cases
Experience using test management tools
Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
Ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and system integration activities
Ability to collaborate with people from different disciplines and technical backgrounds in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively verbally and in writing
Familiarity with automated and manual testing techniques
Experience with big data applications
Technical degree and/or certifications
Experience with Elastic Search and writing and executing backend tests using Kibana
Scaled Agile Framework certification (SAFe Agilist or other)
Familiarity with GitFlow development model
