About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a standardized cost reporting framework for reviewing and validating Colocation Developers’ base building construction costs
  • Prepare estimate evaluation reports based on ROM, Schematic, or Construction pricing
  • Review and validate project scope against predefined demarcation matrices
  • Highlight deviations, cost impacts, assumptions, and exclusions from developers, AEs, GCs, and Clients
  • Develop reports aligned with Clients’ Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) categories
  • Provide summaries of Site & Shell / Increment 0 / Increment 1-N construction phasing
  • Analyze data center construction costs against market intelligence and parametric benchmarks
  • Factor in Value Engineering cost options for Client consideration
  • Review developer security costs against Client benchmarks and capture supporting assumptions and exclusions
  • Track design changes between estimate revisions and report cost and schedule impacts
  • Coordinate with in-house commodity teams to leverage current market intelligence
  • Liaise with Client stakeholders and partner teams, including Energy Location Services (ELS) and Central Estimating
  • Prepare high-level ROM estimates for program planning, annual capex planning, and pipeline projects
  • Develop cost modeling tools to generate high-level estimates and improve benchmark capture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of cost management or estimating experience
  • Data Center and Commercial experience
  • Experience as a Cost Manager/Estimator with large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in CostX, Bluebeam, Excel, and Accubid software
  • Strong capabilities in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of relevant construction technologies and trends, including Sustainability
  • Experience estimating Electrical in both MV and Low voltage (480v / 277v, 120 / 208)
  • Familiarity with estimating Fire Alarm, Security, EPMS, Telecom, Fiber
  • Conceptual and hard roll estimating skills
  • Ability to provide value engineering options
  • Proficient in market trends
  • Ability to establish relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work alongside CSA and Mechanical estimators to provide one combined estimate for the client
