About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze invitation-to-bid documents, including construction drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents, to determine electrical requirements
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs using digital take-off software
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct costs
- Solicit, analyze, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Develop detailed basis of estimate documentation with assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications
- Collaborate with operations and pre-construction teams on value engineering and constructability reviews
- Participate virtually in pre-bid and post-bid meetings with clients, engineers, and general contractors
- Use estimating software to build and format professional proposals
- Maintain current knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, material pricing, and labor rates
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry
- Proven experience estimating large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects
- Direct experience with data center projects is required
- Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as Accubid and ConEst
- Proficiency with digital take-off tools such as Bluebeam Revu
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including primary and secondary power distribution, emergency/back-up power systems, generators, UPS, ATS, branch power, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding
- Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to independently read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFPs
