About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee day-to-day contract administration and ensure compliance with contract terms, policies, and procedures
- Develop, coordinate, and manage project scopes aligned with objectives, contracts, and stakeholder requirements
- Review project scopes for changes and ensure compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory standards
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets
- Review contractor proposals, change orders, pay applications, and financial reporting
- Review and negotiate contractor change orders and claims
- Establish and maintain project schedules, milestones, completion dates, and critical path tasks
- Establish recovery schedules when needed
- Manage construction documentation, including bidding procedures, startup and closeout, submittals, RFIs, change management, pay applications, and project reporting
- Communicate project updates to clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Prepare reports on project progress, budget status, risks, and delays
- Develop and implement project management policies, procedures, and workflows
- Perform project risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies for cost, schedule, and quality
- Provide leadership, training, and technical guidance to project staff
- Provide technical direction to design firms, consultants, and contractors
- Manage project closeout, punch lists, final payments, remaining issues, final reports, and records
- Collaborate in person with clients, peers, leaders, and communities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture and/or engineering
- 10+ years of experience overseeing and managing all phases of higher education institution programs/projects
- 10+ years of experience in preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases
- Ability to problem solve, interpret information, and draw conclusions to make decisions
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk throughout the day
- Ability to bend, crawl, climb ladders, stairs, hills, etc., and reach overhead
- Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
- Ability to comply with personal protective equipment requirements
- Ability to endure extreme physical temperatures and experience loud noises and fumes on project sites
- OSHA 30 Hour Safety Training highly desirable
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or PMP certificate highly desirable
- Strong written, verbal communication, and computer skills
- Experience with CM software, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Adobe
