About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop hardware initiatives in communications, consumer products, and EV charging products
  • Design and develop niche consumer hardware products supporting energy transition, consumer solar and batteries, EVs, home automation, and consumer energy management
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand use cases and create products meeting customer needs
  • Research and apply technologies in operating systems, business applications, and GUIs on embedded hardware products
  • Configure, build, and deploy embedded Linux OS with drivers on customized hardware platforms
  • Develop communication interfaces such as DNP, MQTT, and OPC UA
  • Create test applications and test plans to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up prototypes and troubleshoot issues
  • Support customer interactions, including technical discussions and demonstrations
  • Develop presentation and data sheet collateral as needed
  • Perform other technical and engineering duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science degree with experience in embedded software design and development
  • Experience in software development
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems
  • Experience designing embedded software on hardware products
  • Programming proficiency in C, C++, and Java
