About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and practical learning sessions aligned with the adult care curriculum and industry standards
- Deliver classroom-based training in person-centred care, safeguarding, infection control, moving and handling, communication, and workplace behaviours
- Assess learner knowledge and practical competence through observation, written work, and discussions
- Provide constructive feedback and set goals for improvement
- Adapt delivery for a diverse learner cohort, including learners returning to learning or entering the care sector
- Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Support learners in developing professionalism, resilience, teamwork, and other transferable skills
- Monitor attendance, progress, and achievements and maintain accurate records
- Guide learners toward employment, further training, or qualifications
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners
- Keep current with adult care sector developments and educational practices
- Meet performance targets for attendance, engagement, progress, completion, achievement, assessment quality, compliance, professional development, and learner or stakeholder satisfaction
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum Level 3 teaching learning and assessment qualification, such as AET or PTLLS (essential)
- Level 3 or higher in Health and Social Care (essential)
- Level 3 CAVA or equivalent (essential)
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics (essential)
- Full Driving Licence (essential)
- Extensive hands-on experience and a strong track record in the Health and Social Care sector (essential)
- Experience in face to face delivery (essential)
- Experience of working with adults from diverse backgrounds (essential)
- Sound knowledge of health and social care practices, sector regulations, and health and safety protocols (essential)
- A strong network within the health and social care sector for potential employer partnerships (essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and connect with learners (essential)
- Effective organisational skills to plan, prepare, and deliver effective training sessions (essential)
- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to tailor teaching, learning and assessment methods to various learning styles (essential)
- IT literacy for creating and maintaining digital training resources (essential)
- Level 4 IQA or equivalent (desirable)
- L5 teaching qualification or willingness to work toward (desirable)
