About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review tender documents and technical specifications (CCTP, drawings and specifications)
- Conduct site visits to identify technical constraints and specific requirements
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for HVAC packages
- Consult specialized heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and plumbing suppliers and subcontractors
- Analyze supplier and subcontractor proposals
- Calculate the costs of materials, labor and required technical resources
- Propose optimized technical solutions incorporating energy performance and maintenance considerations
- Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals and tender response documents
- Participate in technical and financial negotiations with clients and partners
- Monitor ongoing consultations and contribute to the continuous improvement of the estimating department’s methods and tools
- Work on private- and public-sector renovation and maintenance projects for commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, public buildings, multi-unit residential properties and hotel facilities
- Collaborate as part of a six-person team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in HVAC cost estimating
- Good knowledge of current HVAC regulations, including technical standards, safety requirements, energy performance and environmental regulations
- Stay up to date with changes in HVAC regulations
- Proficiency in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems
- Plumbing knowledge is preferred
- Proficiency in cost estimation and technical analysis
- Strong communication skills when working with the various project stakeholders
- Methodical, independent, curious and proactive approach
- Awareness of energy-related challenges and innovative solutions
- Proficiency in or experience using Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs and Slides), ChatGPT and AI tools, QUOTER PLAN, Canva, AutoCAD and Revit
