About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage carrier placement specialist(s), supporting team development and goals
- Develop partnerships with Client Advisors and Account Management to determine marketing strategy and execute placement for new and existing accounts
- Maintain carrier relationships and cultivate new carrier relationships for the West Division
- Monitor carrier placement KPIs, track metrics, and provide regular reports to senior leadership
- Analyze submissions based on risk characteristics, exposure analysis, hazard recognition, and control
- Use underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with authority levels and state regulations
- Review insurance policies and contracts and recommend improvements
- Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities as needed
- Work with market participants to keep the team informed about insurance company underwriting, sales alignment, products, and capabilities
- Handle new and renewal remarketing, including submissions to insurers, carrier negotiations, and direct interaction with insureds
- Prepare property and casualty insurance submissions, including insurance specifications, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules
- Promote technology adoption, process optimization, automation, and operational streamlining
- Ensure AURIS and EPIC are adopted and leveraged to maximize client retention, growth, and profitability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is preferred
- Must currently hold an active property & casualty license
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the insurance and/or financial services industries
- Proven experience managing teams, implementing process improvements, and driving operational excellence
- Proven record of driving operational excellence and efficiency in service of dynamic client experiences
- Experience supporting the business development lifecycle
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent business and people decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle stress amid challenges, deadlines, and aggressive financial commitments
- Excellent leadership and coaching ability
- Deep understanding of markets, clients, and competitors in California
- Ability to cultivate and grow productive, long-term customer relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Superior presentation or relationship skills to present proposals
- Comfortable traveling up to 25%
