About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for external and internal customer service needs
  • Facilitate team service deliverables and manage accurate, efficient, and effective responses
  • Service accounts, including quoting and issuing policies, ID cards, proposal endorsements, certificates, claims, renewals, follow-up, and correspondence
  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company requests in a timely manner
  • Develop coverage strategies and plans as necessary
  • Perform insurance marketing and sales
  • Collect renewal data on assigned accounts
  • Provide claims support
  • Review new and renewal policies and endorsements to ensure ordered items were received
  • Maintain and document accurate client data and activities in Applied Systems / EPIC
  • Use upload, download, and interface technology
  • Assist other departments with information needed to issue appropriate policies for mutual clients
  • Keep Producers informed of important account activities and potential problems; inform management as needed
  • Stay current with industry trends through educational seminars and classes
  • Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting requirements and policy provisions
  • Complete other assigned functions, including backup duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Health & Life License Required
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to discern priority and initiative
  • Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems, interpret varied instructions, and deal with variables in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Applied Systems / EPIC experience is a plus
  • Knowledge and application of insurance principles
  • Employee Navigator experience is a plus
  • High School diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits
  • CPCU or special training course completion is a plus
  • Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership
