About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage timelines and processes for new business and renewal activities
- Conduct exposure analysis and prepare quote specifications
- Analyze and negotiate coverage offers
- Prepare and present comprehensive coverage proposals
- Communicate with Client Advisors, Account Service Teams, markets, and carrier partners
- Review insurance policies and contracts and recommend improvements
- Prepare property and casualty insurance submissions for new business prospects and renewing accounts
- Prepare insurance specifications, Acord applications, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules
- Analyze Excel spreadsheets containing prospect exposure and loss data
- Develop financial models for loss-sensitive programs when necessary
- Maintain relationships with insurance companies and wholesalers
- Handle confidential and non-routine information
- Rate policies in carrier systems and comparative rating tools
- Maintain licensing compliance and continuing education
- Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities
- Perform coverage gap analysis and deliver strategic coverage recommendations
- Work independently and on team-based special, ongoing, and nonrecurring projects
- Identify opportunities to engage Risk Resources for specialized expertise
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work with minimum supervision and accept directions given assignments
- Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy
- Able to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills
- Experience with a broker/agent, including marketing large middle market accounts to carriers
- Excellent knowledge of insurance markets
- Strong knowledge of basic applicable insurance coverages
- Proficient in creating required proposal presentation documents
- 3–5 years of relevant insurance experience, with emphasis on middle to large market placements
- Must currently hold an applicable insurance license
- Experience with Epic is a plus
- Pursuit of a professional designation (CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, CPCU) is preferred
- Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence
