About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a desk and caseload of workers’ compensation claims efficiently and professionally
- Investigate claims, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis
- Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate, timely reserves
- Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel
- Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions with claimants and attorneys
- Monitor and manage medical treatment activity and claim progression
- Maintain accurate and organized claim documentation in the claims system
- Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely
- Support timely and compliant claim resolution strategies
- Communicate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients throughout the claims process
- Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of assigned state workers’ compensation statutes
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Lost time workers’ compensation claims experience required
- Georgia workers’ compensation claims experience required
- Workers’ compensation claims handling experience in Alabama jurisdiction preferred
- Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations beneficial
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Professional and customer-focused approach when working with clients and claimants
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Adjuster licensing beneficial or ability to obtain licensing as required
- Comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership
