About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for test preparation and practice across ACT's assessment portfolio
  • Define positioning and business models across free and paid test prep products
  • Balance expanded access to free practice with growth in paid product revenue
  • Manage external test prep partners and drive joint roadmaps
  • Evaluate and pursue new free or low-cost test prep partnerships
  • Identify opportunities to capture greater wallet share from learners using competing providers
  • Determine channel strategy for practice tests and content
  • Lead modernization and repositioning of ACT's existing signature test prep products
  • Define test prep and practice requirements for PreACT and WorkKeys
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Market Research on positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategy
  • Grow B2B and B2C revenue, including new B2B opportunities
  • Define and track product and business metrics
  • Represent test prep and practice strategy in partner negotiations, internal planning, and cross-functional forums
  • Balance learner value, partner relationships, and revenue growth in product decisions
  • Build relationships with vendor partners and internal stakeholders
  • Execute the roadmap and drive progress on revenue and engagement targets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of progressive product management experience
  • Proven track record of owning and growing a commercial product portfolio
  • Experience with freemium, subscription, or B2C monetization models
  • Experience converting free users into paying customers
  • Demonstrated experience managing external vendor or licensing partnerships
  • Experience negotiating joint roadmaps and commercial terms
  • Strong command of product roadmap planning and prioritization frameworks
  • Experience with agile development processes
  • Experience using customer insight and competitive analysis to shape pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy
  • Track record of balancing internal teams, external partners, and customers to reach commercial decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Comfort owning revenue, engagement, and lifetime value metrics
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Experience in test preparation, EdTech, or education content industry is a plus
  • Experience building or scaling a free-to-paid funnel is a plus
  • Familiarity with adaptive learning, digital practice tests, or assessment content products is a plus
  • Experience with affiliate, licensing, or wholesale commercial models is a plus
  • Experience exploring or launching B2B extensions of a primarily B2C product is a plus
  • Background working with high school students, families, or educators as end customers is a plus
  • Finalists are subject to a criminal background check
  • Completion of the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate is recommended
