About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to cyber security consultancy projects combining technical analysis with business engagement
- Support cyber risk assessments and security reviews
- Assist with developing security strategies, policies, and standards
- Contribute to security architecture and system design activities
- Support security assurance and accreditation activities
- Research emerging cyber threats and security technologies
- Analyse technical and business information to identify risks and opportunities
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities
- Develop expertise in cyber risk management, security architecture, security assurance and accreditation, security testing and vulnerability management, information assurance and governance, secure system design, and cyber strategy and transformation
- Work within a team-based environment and contribute to internal initiatives
- Work across home, office, and client-site settings, with occasional travel or short stays away from home
Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree in a STEM, cyber security, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related discipline
- Strong interest in cyber security, technology, and digital systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyse complex information and develop structured solutions
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain UK Government Security Clearance
- Aptitude for solving complex problems through logical and structured thinking
- Collaborative approach and ability to build positive working relationships
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop specialist cyber security expertise
- Confidence working independently while contributing effectively within a team
- Interest in how technology can be used to solve real-world challenges
- Exposure to cyber security concepts through academic study, projects, placements, internships, or self-directed learning is beneficial but not essential
- Awareness of cyber security frameworks, standards, or risk management approaches is beneficial but not essential
- Experience working on technical projects individually or as part of a team is beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of networking, cloud technologies, operating systems, software development, or security tooling is beneficial but not essential
- Experience presenting information or recommendations to different audiences is beneficial but not essential
