About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the recruitment and ramp-up of approximately 200 blue- and white-collar employees
- Work closely with temporary employment agencies
- Provide hands-on HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee administration, development, performance management, and offboarding
- Advise managers and employees on HR matters, Portuguese labour law, company policies, and HR procedures
- Manage local labour relations and maintain constructive relationships with employee representatives, Works Council, and/or trade unions
- Coordinate HR administration and ensure accurate employee data and documentation with Payroll and the Shared Service Centre
- Support workforce planning, absence and vacation management, HR reporting, and key people indicators
- Coordinate employee development initiatives and support implementation of corporate HR policies and processes
- Participate in local and international HR projects
- Continuously improve HR processes as the Distribution Centre grows
- Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day HR matters at the new Distribution Centre
- Support the successful start-up of the Distribution Centre launching in August 2027
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant experience as HR Generalist, ideally in an international and multicultural environment
- Excellent work organization skills, including accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and set priorities
- Fluent in English
- Strong social and empathetic skills, with a high sense of discretion
- Creativity and a high level of initiative
- Higher education
- Experience conducting recruitment processes at various organizational levels
- Good working knowledge of Portuguese labour law
- Basic knowledge of payroll calculation
- Knowledge of personnel administration
- Good command of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Availability to travel, mainly at the beginning for onboarding purposes
- Experience in the logistics/manufacturing industry is nice to have
- Familiarity with SAP & SuccessFactors is nice to have
- Experience in a multicultural, multinational environment is nice to have
