About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain a financial system that produces rapid reporting at low administrative cost
  • Prepare business reports, forecasts, and financial statements
  • Monitor financial performance and identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Manage timesheets, payroll, bookkeeping, 401(k), and budget
  • Establish partnerships with lending institutions to expand financing options for homeowners
  • Maintain compliance with city, state, and federal requirements
  • Manage tax credits and incentives, annual filings, tax-law changes, deadlines, and agency notices
  • Manage shareholder records and stock option administration
  • Build redundancy into financial functions and document repeatable processes
  • Hire, train, and manage accounting staff and subcontractors
  • Work directly with leadership, lending partners, outside accountants, and the internal team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years in accounting or finance leadership, including direct management of a team
  • Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Proven experience implementing or optimizing financial software
  • Strong command of timekeeping, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and finance methodologies and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to design workflows and integrate systems that reduce administrative cost
  • Proven ability to see projects through the full lifecycle
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • CPA is a plus
  • Familiarity with Builder Trend, Go High Level, BambooHR, and Slack, or ability to learn them quickly
  • Construction or project-based accounting experience is a plus
  • Sage, Viewpoint Spectrum, or comparable construction ERP exposure is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-starting, and able to work with minimal supervision
