About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and evolve IAM and CIAM architecture aligned to Zero Trust and enterprise security principles
Design scalable authentication and authorization models for internal platforms and customer-facing applications
Establish identity-service standards, patterns, and reference architectures
Drive platform selection, integration strategy, and identity capability roadmaps
Lead design and implementation using Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Auth0, Ping, or other identity providers
Build and maintain SSO, MFA, passwordless authentication, RBAC/ABAC authorization, federation, identity brokering, B2B/B2C flows, and identity lifecycle management
Design customer-facing identity services, including self-service registration, onboarding, lifecycle management, identity governance, and secure multi-product access
Improve customer identity user experience, security, and scalability
Implement MFA, adaptive authentication, conditional access, audit logging, access reviews, and regulatory compliance alignment
Partner with engineering teams to integrate identity services into applications
Enable adoption through SDKs, APIs, documentation, and reusable patterns
Act as an internal identity consultant and subject matter expert
Ensure identity platforms are highly available, scalable, secure, monitored, observable, and integrated with CI/CD and DevSecOps
Support continuous improvement of identity operations and automation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
Minimum 8–12 years of overall experience in software engineering, security, or identity domains
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in IAM and/or CIAM implementations across enterprise or customer-facing environments
Proven experience designing and delivering identity solutions at scale
Demonstrated experience across authentication (AuthN) and authorization (AuthZ) capabilities
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD, B2C), Okta, or equivalent identity platforms
Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT/OIDC, identity federation, token-based authentication, Zero Trust security principles, and access governance/compliance frameworks
Experience designing RBAC/ABAC authorization models
Experience with externalized/fine-grained authorization using OPA, Cedar, or XACML, including PDP/PEP architecture, policy testing, and fail-closed design
Experience with cloud platforms; Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable
Ability to operate at both architectural and hands-on engineering levels
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams
Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks
Preferred: privacy, consent management, customer data protection, AI-enabled identity, mentoring, CIAM UX, enterprise-scale CIAM, AI/platform/API ecosystems, AI-driven security, identity automation, Terraform, Bicep, ADO, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps, and relevant certifications
