About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications supporting CIAM capabilities
- Build customer-facing identity experiences including registration, login, MFA, profile management, account recovery, and consent management
- Develop scalable backend services, RESTful and event-driven APIs, microservices, SDKs, components, and shared services
- Build responsive, accessible, and secure user interfaces using modern frontend technologies
- Implement authentication and authorization across web, mobile, and API channels
- Integrate applications with CIAM platforms and identity providers
- Support SSO, MFA, passwordless authentication, federated identity, self-service registration, profile management, B2B, B2C, and partner identity use cases
- Implement customer lifecycle management and user provisioning workflows
- Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and resilience
- Partner with UX teams to deliver frictionless customer authentication experiences
- Apply secure coding principles and implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and token-based authentication flows
- Support threat modelling, vulnerability remediation, security reviews, automated testing, and compliance with GDPR and customer data protection standards
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code automation
- Support deployment, release management, observability, monitoring, DevSecOps, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Security Engineers, Platform Engineers, Architects, and IAM specialists
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical design discussions
- Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring
- Help drive adoption of the shared CIAM platform across Acuity business units
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven experience developing full-stack applications in cloud-native environments
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js or Vue.js
- Strong backend development experience using Node.js and Python
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with microservices and distributed architectures
- Hands-on experience integrating with identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID / External ID, Okta, Auth0, Ping Identity, or similar CIAM platforms
- Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT Tokens, and authentication and authorization patterns
- Experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Experience working with Git-based development workflows
- Experience implementing automated testing and quality engineering practices
- Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies
- Experience with IAM or CIAM programs, large-scale customer-facing platforms, Kubernetes, container-based platforms, Terraform, Bicep, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, observability tools, customer consent and privacy management solutions, Zero Trust security principles, multi-tenant SaaS platforms, or AI-enabled customer experiences is preferred or advantageous
- Azure, cloud, security, or identity certifications are preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
