About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and connected-product features across backend and frontend components
  • Contribute to system designs, technical specifications, implementation details and code connecting software, cloud, mobile and device components
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools for requirements understanding, design exploration, code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation and knowledge discovery
  • Review and validate AI-generated code, tests, analysis and documentation for correctness, maintainability, security and traceability
  • Participate in software design discussions, peer code reviews and technical problem solving
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Squad Leaders, architects, QA engineers, developers, hardware and firmware teams
  • Create and maintain unit tests and investigate software defects
  • Work on device communication, integration and debugging using TCP, UDP, BLE, Thread or comparable protocols
  • Participate in Agile planning, backlog refinement, daily Scrum, reviews and retrospectives
  • Follow coding standards, secure engineering practices, version-control workflows and CI/CD processes
  • Manage technical debt and continuously build product, technology and AI-assisted development knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 2-3 years of professional software development experience
  • Practical experience with C#/.NET, JavaScript and a modern frontend framework such as React
  • Working knowledge of software design, object-oriented development, debugging, code review, unit testing and maintainable engineering practices
  • Experience using Git or a comparable version-control system
  • Awareness of connected-product or IoT concepts, including APIs, network communication, cloud-connected applications or hardware-software integration
  • Practical understanding of AI-assisted software engineering and validation of AI-generated outputs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to secure, responsible and ethical use of AI and software engineering tools
  • Preferred: experience with C++, Python, HTML, Node.js, SQL, Azure or Azure DevOps
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, build tooling and package management
  • Preferred: exposure to TCP, UDP, BLE, Thread and connected-device technologies
  • Preferred: mobile or cross-platform development experience
  • Preferred: background in lighting, IoT devices, wireless systems or hardware-software integrated products
