About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate CRT/keyboard and Voice Communication System to simulate pilot actions and communications from remote ATC facilities during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises
Receive voice commands from students
Respond to students via the VCS using proper phraseology
Enter appropriate information into the automated system to simulate pilot actions
Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology
Observe certified RPOs, FAA employees, or Contractor Instructors during simulation scenarios
Complete required on-the-job training and knowledge and skills testing

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of experience in a comparable position
Ability to type 40 wpm with 90% accuracy
Ability to read and interpret materials such as diagrams and manuals
Ability to speak clearly and be understood
Ability to complete and pass knowledge tests for each supported area/sector with at least 70%
Observe a previously certified RPO, FAA employee, or Contractor Instructor performing RPO duties on a minimum of 5 simulation scenarios
Complete on-the-job training on at least 5 and no more than 20 simulation scenarios for each supported control position
Achieve simulation laboratory certification within 120 days of reporting for duty
Ability to adhere to Adacel’s Drug Free Workplace Policy
Ability to pass an Adacel background check while employed
Must be able to pass a Government background check investigation
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Occasional lifting of less than 25 lbs.; repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movement
Previous experience working on a multi-disciplinary team (desired)
Good verbal and written communication skills (desired)
Good team building skills (desired)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (desired)
Familiarity with current technology tools including tablets, notebooks, and applications (desired)
