About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), keyboard, and Voice Communication System (VCS) to simulate pilot actions and remote Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility communications
- Receive voice commands from students
- Respond to students via the VCS using proper phraseology
- Enter appropriate information into the automated system to simulate pilot actions
- Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology
- Observe certified RPOs, FAA employees, or Contractor Instructors during at least 5 simulation scenarios
- Complete on-the-job training on 5–20 simulation scenarios for each supported control position
- Undergo FAA Representative performance observation for certification
- Work in a normal office environment, typically seated at a desk, with possible extended standing and walking
- No supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a comparable position
- Ability to type 40 wpm with 90% accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals
- Ability to speak clearly and be understood
- Ability to complete and pass knowledge and skills tests for each supported area/sector, with knowledge tests requiring at least 70%
- Must complete required observation and on-the-job training scenarios
- Must achieve simulation laboratory certification within 120 days of reporting for duty
- Ability to adhere to Adacel’s Drug Free Workplace Policy
- Ability to pass an Adacel background check while employed
- Must pass a Government background check investigation
- Must obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Ability to occasionally lift less than 25 lbs
- Desired: Previous experience working on a multi-disciplinary team
- Desired: Good verbal and written communication skills
- Desired: Good team building skills
- Desired: Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Desired: Familiarity with current technology tools including tablets, notebooks, and applications
