About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), keyboard, and Voice Communication System (VCS) to simulate pilot actions and remote Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility communications during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises
Receive voice commands from students
Respond to students via the VCS using proper phraseology
Input proper entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions
Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology
Complete required knowledge and skills testing, observation, on-the-job training, and facility certification

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of experience in a comparable position
Ability to type 40 wpm with 90% accuracy
Ability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals
Ability to speak clearly and be understood
Ability to complete and pass knowledge and skills tests for each supported area/sector, with knowledge tests requiring at least 70%
Observe a certified RPO, FAA employee, or Contractor Instructor performing RPO duties on at least 5 simulation scenarios
Complete on-the-job training on 5–20 simulation scenarios for each supported control position
Achieve simulation laboratory certification within 120 days of reporting for duty
Ability to adhere to Adacel’s Drug Free Workplace Policy
Ability to pass an Adacel background check while employed
Must pass a Government background check investigation
Must obtain a Public Trust clearance
Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
Occasional lifting of less than 25 lbs
