About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently develop and enhance software components in the areas of data engineering, analytics, and cloud
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, interfaces, and data-driven applications
Contribute to architecture decisions, data models, and technical solution concepts
Implement cloud-based data and software solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
Analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions
Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases
Ensure quality through testing, code reviews, and technical documentation
Collaborate closely with customers, project teams, and internal stakeholders
Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced colleagues on the team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in several relevant areas and the ability to quickly adapt to new technical environments
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, or OCI
Several years of experience in software development and/or data engineering
Very good knowledge of Java/Java Enterprise, Spring, REST, XML, or web services
Good to very good SQL skills and experience with relational databases
Experience with data pipelines, interfaces, data integration, or analytical applications
Experience with Python, Unix/Linux Shell, or comparable tools is an advantage
Understanding of software architecture, such as multi-tier architectures, microservices, or design patterns
Proficiency with Git, Maven, Jira, or comparable tools
Experience with big data technologies, modern data platforms, or cloud-oriented architectures is an advantage
Structured, analytical, and self-directed approach to work
Ability to understand technical requirements, develop solution proposals, and implement them
Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Experience in customer projects or IT consulting is an advantage
University degree in computer science, business informatics, mathematics, natural sciences, or a comparable practical qualification
Excellent German and good English skills
