About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development of proprietary frameworks and code for analyzing electrified propulsion technologies
  • Perform first-principles modeling activities to develop highly complex models
  • Integrate basic or advanced control logic governing the behavior of the physical components of models incorporated into proprietary frameworks and code
  • Create pre- and post-processing tools
  • Provide support in resolving issues related to the use of proprietary frameworks and code
  • Communicate results through presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, Centers of Excellence (COEs), component engineers, and powertrain managers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Automotive)
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle propulsion systems, including internal combustion engines, transmissions, axles, drivelines, batteries, and electric motors
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid and electrified control strategies, as well as energy management optimization
  • Knowledge of torque-path strategies for hybrid and electrified propulsion systems
  • Knowledge of ECMS (Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy) for energy management
  • Advanced proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and GT-Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer is a plus
  • Experience with production controls is a plus
  • Experience with Git for code version control and collaborative workflows is a plus
  • Experience with vehicle testing or data analysis is a plus
