About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Frame.io’s Search squad developing search and secure workflow capabilities
- Empower engineers, coach them, provide technical mentorship, unblock them, and help expand their impact
- Lead the squad in building ambitious, best-in-class applications
- Advocate for engineering excellence and contribute to application architecture and high-level structure
- Align workstreams across squads and eliminate communication gaps
- Partner with engineering, product, design, user insights, and QA teams to shape and sequence engineering work
- Provide technical leadership and be accountable for team technical decisions
- Grow, educate, and retain a successful team in an agile environment
- Co-own squad strategy with product, design, and senior partners
- Drive culture and process improvements across the engineering organization
- Directly contribute to codebases through feedback and participate in quarterly Manager Hack Weeks
- Help grow the engineering team and culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience planning, implementing, and delivering projects with multiple engineers and multiple squads
- Experience working across a full web application stack
- Experience leading people and providing formal and informal feedback
- Experience with React, Next.js, Apollo Client, TypeScript, GraphQL Codegen, and Styled Components
- Experience with Elixir, Postgres, OpenSearch, Redis, and AWS
- Track record of delivering beautiful and performant software
- Proficient in developing secure, hardened code
- Eagerness to innovate on performance with load optimizations, pre-fetching, and animation
- Strong desire to foster an enriching, inclusive, and safe working environment
- Passion for collaborating with design from concept to production
- Love of full-stack engineering, technical leadership, people management, and product design
