About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform advanced mathematical and statistical modeling to translate complex research questions into actionable strategic insights for clients
Architect, validate, and launch full-stack machine learning, data engineering, and AI production systems
Apply natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI to extract value from complex, unstructured datasets such as electronic health records and social media
Streamline the architecture and querying procedures for massive databases, including financial data and insurance claims
Build intuitive interactive analytics portals and robust data visualizations using Python/Flask, R/Shiny, or D3
Develop software packages in Python and R
Optimize computationally intensive workflows using C, C++, CUDA, cloud computing, and grid/HPC environments
Serve as a technical mentor, participate directly in client engagements, and help scale the firm’s internal data science knowledge base
Monitor technological developments, particularly in generative AI, and integrate cutting-edge tools, applications, and data sources into the firm’s services

Requirements

What you’ll need

PhD in a highly quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related scientific field
Demonstrated ability to independently tackle complex analytical problems and derive meaningful insights using advanced mathematical frameworks
Expert proficiency in Python and/or R is required, supported by a strong portfolio of applied project experience
Deep technical understanding of generative AI concepts and mechanisms, including embeddings, RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, and structured generation, with hands-on experience prototyping or deploying AI agents
Strong awareness of the ethical considerations, risks, and responsible-use best practices associated with generative AI applications
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, as well as High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments
Familiarity with Linux, Docker, and JavaScript front-end frameworks such as Angular and Vue.js is highly advantageous
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of collaborative teamwork
Fluency in English is strictly required
Candidates must possess valid work authorization
Solid experience working with structured and unstructured data
A valid work permit is required
