About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan with AI, drive coding agents and critically review their output
- Work directly with business colleagues to gather requirements, align on solutions and build working software
- Make architecture and data-model decisions to keep systems fast and reliable as the company scales
- Own existing applications and build new solutions for the affiliate business
- Design and develop event-driven backend systems handling large volumes of product and campaign data
- Develop primarily in Rust and partly in Python
- Own topics end to end and keep the team and stakeholders informed
- Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews, knowledge sharing and improvements to tools and ways of working
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience contributing to a strong engineering culture, e.g. through code reviews, knowledge sharing, or improving team tools and ways of working
- Daily hands-on work with coding agents, including planning with AI, delegating implementation, and reviewing output
- Strong architectural awareness
- Rust experience, or curiosity about Rust and readiness to make it the main language
- C or C++ experience is a strong alternative
- Experience solving problems in e-commerce, affiliate marketing, Google Shopping, Google Ads, or other data-heavy web platforms is ideal
- Experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS or similar
- Solid grasp of the full engineering process: requirements, design, trade-offs, testing and maintainability
- Mid- or senior-level experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Business-fluent English (C1)
- Frontend experience is a plus but not required
