About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide agronomic observations on grower acres in varied areas and environments
- Assist with scouting reports for grower customers under the direction of the Precision Agronomist and/or Lead Agronomist
- Participate in soil sample collection efforts as needed
- Assist with research efforts on grower acres, including hybrid trials and planter-applied biological or starter fertilizer trials
- Work collaboratively and independently
- Communicate effectively with growers, agronomists, and full-time employees
- Gain experience in general agronomy, plant pathology, entomology, weed science, leadership, data collection and evaluation, and grower relationship management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Agriculture or Science degree track preferred
- Willingness and ability to work under on-farm and in-field conditions
- Understanding of current farming practices is beneficial
- Task/project driven and able to work independently and in group settings
- Growth mindset and desire for continuous learning
- Willingness to live and/or relocate to the desired location in Indiana or Illinois
- Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional approved additional hours
- Ability to travel during the day as part of a team and attend a small number of overnight events
