About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain complex mainframe applications and software solutions
- Analyze business and system requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Create and maintain application architecture, technical specifications, and program documentation
- Develop, test, debug, and implement software enhancements and new functionality
- Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to validate requirements and ensure successful delivery
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support
- Perform system integration activities between hardware and software components
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices
- Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and information assurance standards
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and process improvements
- Lead technical initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development and programming
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working with IMS, DB2, COBOL, and CICS in enterprise mainframe environments
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support
