About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Help residents improve activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting and self-care
- Address strength, balance, coordination, endurance and functional mobility related to daily activities
- Provide therapeutic activities designed to improve independence and safety
- Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress with the supervising OT
- Educate residents, families and caregivers on strategies supporting continued success
- Collaborate with PT, OT, SLP, nursing and other interdisciplinary care team members
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Work with adult and geriatric residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current or eligible Pennsylvania Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
- Skilled nursing, geriatric or rehabilitation experience is a plus, but not required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
