About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain a record system for patient information and gather documents
- Use electronic systems to collect, organize, and manage data
- Ensure medical records are organized, accurate, and complete
- Create digital copies of paperwork and store records electronically
- File paperwork and reports quickly and accurately
- Ensure HIPAA standards are met
- Follow confidentiality guidelines, rules, and procedures
- Interact with medical staff, healthcare providers, and other medical personnel
- Travel to various medical facilities and hospitals to scan patient medical records
- Visit required facilities during assigned hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
- Have a car and active insurance in their name
- Must provide registration documentation
- Willing to drive up to 60–80 miles or more round-trip
- Internet access at home
- Basic PC and office equipment skills
- Available from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm in the respective time zone to visit required facilities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Previous healthcare-setting experience, such as hospital, clinic, or medical office experience, preferred as a good-to-have qualification
- Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech, preferred as a good-to-have qualification
- Intermediate knowledge of medical chart structure, content, and medical terminology, preferred as a good-to-have qualification
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook, preferred as a good-to-have qualification
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot common printer and scanner issues, preferred as a good-to-have qualification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals, preferred as a good-to-have qualification
