About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the month-end and year-end close process
Produce accurate consolidated group management accounts across UK, US, and European entities
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and continuously refine financial controls
Maintain the group finance calendar
Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process
Manage statutory accounts preparation
Provide consolidated figures and schedules to support CFO decision-making
Manage UK VAT reviews and declarations, French TVA, and German sales tax
Coordinate US tax filings
Execute global transfer pricing agreements
Complete annual compliance reporting, including UK/French R&D tax claims, PSAs, and P11Ds
Oversee global payroll preparation, review, and payment with external local payroll providers
Administer employee benefits, including pension feed uploads and HSA contributions
Support EMI and US 409A valuations
Maintain cap table records and submit annual HMRC option filings
Handle company secretarial filings, share issuances, and global insurance renewals
Oversee AP, AR, and GL maintenance
Guide and develop junior finance support
Drive group cash flow reporting and manage international cash balances
Oversee month-end payment runs and multi-currency banking relationships
Serve as primary operational contact for international tax advisors and accounting firms
Own administration of finance systems including Xero, Stripe, and PayPal
Report directly to the CFO

Requirements

What you’ll need

Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Experience as a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller in a fast-paced tech, marketplace, or high-growth business
Strong core accounting fundamentals
Experience with multi-entity environments
Experience with group consolidations
Experience coordinating international payroll, tax, compliance, and equity administration with local market specialists
Experience supporting annual audits
Experience working with external accounting, tax advisory, and banking partners
Highly organised and proactive, with ability to take ownership and stay ahead of deadlines
Comfortable with Xero, Stripe, and PayPal
Commercially minded and able to work closely with the wider business
Ability to manage and negotiate with key suppliers
Experience implementing or administering modern financial tools to automate workflows
Nice to have: experience in online marketplaces, e-commerce, SaaS, or fintech
Nice to have: experience with multi-currency group structures and outsourced overseas accounting partners
Nice to have: professional or conversational proficiency in French or German
