About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect contractor work in place and review construction documentation for compliance with contract plans and specifications
- Provide on-site inspections and recommendations regarding compliance with contract requirements
- Review project schedules, compare field progress against baselines, and report delays
- Provide site progress updates to Project Manager, Project Controls Manager, and Scheduler
- Attend preparatory meetings and participate in contract-required inspection processes
- Establish and maintain comprehensive project records
- Serve as a technical expert for field inspections and audits, particularly electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC
- Serve as a key contact for high-profile engagements and contribute to strategic decision-making
- Guide inspections across assignments and ensure quality standards
- Set direction and goals for inspection teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- US Citizenship is required
- Experience working in facilities maintenance and facilities management preferred
- Able to obtain Hawaii Department of Transportation – Materials, Testing, and Research Branch (MTRB) Field Sampling and Testing Qualification Certification
- Able to obtain OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain and variable environmental conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive bending/stooping, hand movements, work at heights, lifting and carrying equipment, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and lifting greater than 25 pounds
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
